Lovely 1915 mandolin by Gibson, Kalamazoo.

Gibson have a bit of a problem with archtops and mandolins bulging at the sides.

It takes a long time for it to happen, and a long time to fix it.The sides are under enormous pressure.

This is the jig that will hold this mandolin for about 6 months or so while it gets pressed slowly back into shape.
